First drafts of the National EMS Education Standards released	

 <http://www.nemses.org/index.html> On behalf of the National Association of
EMS Educators (NAEMSE), the National EMS Education Standards Development
Team presented the first drafts of the National EMS Education Standards (the
Standards) for critical review and comment. Although NAEMSE is leading this
task, the Standards will be a product of the national EMS community.

The effort, funded by a cooperative agreement among NAEMSE, the National
Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the Health Resources and
Services Administration (HRSA), represents the next step in implementing the
EMS Education Agenda for the Future: A Systems Approach.	
The first-draft Standards serve as a starting point for dialogue with the
national EMS community. Please review the material and share your comments,
suggestions, and observations with the project team so we can further refine
and improve the documents. Please be as clear and specific as possible when
articulating your feedback. The final National EMS Education Standards will
be most successful when they reflect the broadest possible consensus of the

accepted until July 31, 2007.
