[CSEMSmail] Regional EMS Council Study Interview Schedule Announced

 The Virginia Office of EMS has contracted with a qualified consultant to
evaluate the effectiveness

and efficiency of the current model of Regional EMS Councils in providing
EMS System services that are defined and required by statute, defined by
contracts between OEMS and the Regional EMS Councils, or other services
provided at the discretion of the Regional EMS Councils. In order to
complete the task at hand, the contractor will consider, but not be limited
to: The 2004 JLARC Report on the EMS System, the current Virginia State EMS
Plan, the Institute of Medicine (IOM) report "EMS at the Crossroads", and
the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) designation F 1086-94:
Standard Guide for Structures and Responsibilities of EMS Systems
Organizations in their analysis, evaluation, and recommendations.

 

Through a competitive negotiation process, Association and Society
Management International, Inc. (ASMI, Inc.) of Falls Church, VA was awarded
a contract to conduct the study.

Leslee Stein-Spencer is planning to conduct interviews at the CSEMS Council
office on Wednesday, March 14th. Interviews will be conducted from 8:00am
through 8:00pm that evening. Interview slots are 15 minutes each and if you
desire, you may ask for up to 30 minutes (2 slots). 

They would like to interview key staff, the regional EMS council chair and
other key members, the CSEMS regional medical director, and anyone else. 

Currently the slots from 3:00pm - 4:30pm are taken.  Please send an email
with your name, email address and telephone number to David Cullen at
dcullen at vaems.org to reserve a slot for an interview. Indicate if you desire
15 or 30 minutes.

This is your chance to have input into the regional council study that could
result in positive or negative changes to our current system. It is
important that the consultants hear from you! Please make every effort to
participate!
