In November 2006, a meeting was scheduled to discuss triage of cardiac
patients to facilities capable of cardiac catheterization [Note: See letter
from Dr. Brand below].  The meeting was subsequently cancelled due to
scheduling conflicts with involved Operational Medical Directors.
 
The next MCRC meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 8, 2007 at 10:00 AM
at the CSEMS Council in Staunton, VA and the topic is on the agenda.  The
regional medical directors are encouraging agency leaders, or designees, to
attend this meeting.

To EMS and Fire Leadership: 
  
On behalf of the Medical Council Review Committee I would like to request
your presence at our November meeting.  The meeting will be held on November
15, 2006 at the CSEMS Council, located at 2312 W. Beverley St., Staunton,
VA.   We will start at 10:00 AM.  We anticipate that the meeting will last
90 minutes.  
  
Our agenda includes a discussion about use of 12-lead ECG's by EMS providers
and the implications of this procedure.  The major question is whether we
should consider triage to facilities capable of emergency cardiac
catheterization.  
  
Agencies that would most likely be affected by a decision to develop a
triage protocol would be those who ordinarily transport to AMC or to Bath
County Community Hospital. 
  
It would be very helpful to have you, or your designee, at the meeting.
