The Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS) has begun the
administrative process to promulgate regulations governing regional EMS
Councils and their designation as well as revising existing regulations
governing financial assistance to EMS agencies and the Rescue Squad
Assistance Fund (RSAF) program. These proposed regulations, if adopted by
the Board of Health, will become part of the EMS Regulations (12VAC 5-31)
and all related chapters in the current administrative code will be
repealed.

All concerned citizens and regulants are encouraged to provide public
comment related on the proposed regulations governing regional EMS Councils
and financial assistance to EMS agencies. Please submit your comments
through the Virginia Town Hall at http://www.townhall.virginia.gov
<http://www.townhall.virginia.gov/> .  On the left side of the Home page
under Regulatory Changes, click on "Open for Comment." The initial public
comment period for these proposed regulations ends on Saturday, November 18,
2006.
