Virginia's EMS Strategic Plan

Strategic Plan identifies key initiatives that need to be addressed over the
next five years in order to ensure the emergency medical care system in
Virginia remains effective and efficient. The Strategic Plan will serve as
guide to direct the resources and effort necessary to maintain, improve and
enhance the EMS delivery system in Virginia. 	

As part of a strategic thinking and planning process conducted by OEMS, new
initiatives and areas needing improvement and enhancement were identified.
The planning process did not focus on areas where performance is already at
a high level. This phase of the planning process establishes clarity of
vision and mission, identifies core strategies critical to new initiatives
and improvements, and identifies key strategic initiatives for each core
strategy.
